Veterinarians

Dr. Kim Quinn
Veterinarian and Owner
Dr. Kim Quinn has always loved working with animals and is ecstatic to provide high quality care to our companion animal best friends. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Windsor before obtaining her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2011.
Dr. Quinn has been a small animal veterinarian in Windsor since 2011, forming strong interests in preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and pocket pet medicine. She became a partner in Fort Malden Animal Hospital in 2021, hoping to make a positive difference for the resident pets of Amherstburg.
In her time away from the clinic, Dr. Quinn enjoys playing her alto saxophone in a concert band, reading fiction novels, and travelling.

Dr. Kate Harrison
Veterinarian
Dr. Kate Harrison was born and raised in Tecumseh, Ontario. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Windsor before graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2016.
She spent 5 years practicing in the Hamilton area where she has developed special interests in preventative healthcare, dermatology and client education. Dr. Harrison is currently working on her certification to become a Fear Free Certified practitioner.
It has been Dr. Harrison’s dream to return home to the Essex County area to be able to serve the people and pets of her community. She is thrilled to be a part of the team at Fort Malden Animal Hospital.
In her free time, you can find her cooking up new recipes in the kitchen, exploring the local trails, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Amanda Crowe
Veterinarian
After growing up on a hobby farm in rural northern Ontario, Dr. Crowe graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island with a bachelor’s degree in biology, then followed that up with a degree in veterinary medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College. Following a short stint in a mixed animal practice, she spent 2 years in a feline only practice and working at a small animal practice in Windsor for 23 years before moving to Amherstburg.
In 2017 she joined the Fort Malden Animal Hospital family where she continues to have a strong interest in feline medicine. When not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband, four cats and her horse.

Dr. Nicole Dumouchelle
Veterinarian
Dr. Nicole Dumouchelle joined the Fort Malden team in 2016. She knew from a very young age that she was destined to work with animals. She completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Guelph and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2011. She has years of emergency medicine experience but loves that at Fort Malden she can focus her skills on preventive medicine, dentistry and the human animal bond.
She is passionate about providing veterinary care to underserved areas and occasionally ventures out on spay/neuter projects with the Canadian Animal Assistance Team.
You may catch her on lunch walking in the Navy Yard Park with her dogs Erma and Gurdy.
Office Manager

Kathy Lucier
Registered Veterinary Technician and Office Manager
Kathy Lucier graduated as an Animal Health Technician from St. Clair College in 1979. She worked at Essex Animal Clinic for 2 years, and when the owners opened a clinic in Amherstburg, she transferred. She wrote and passed her Registered Veterinary Technician exam 15 years post graduation. She took business courses at night school for a few years to expand her capabilities. In the middle of working full time as an RVT, she raised a family of 3 children, all grown now. She has been working as the Office Manager for 12 years.

She shares her home with 4 very spoiled cats.

In her spare time she loves to grow flowers and vegetables outside, and African Violets and Orchids inside.

Also, she spends as much time as possible with her two young grandsons.
Administrative Staff

Kelly MaGee Kanally
Veterinary Technician and Lead Client Care Specialist
Kelly has been drawn to animals her whole life. As a young girl there would be times when she would be followed home from school by cats or dogs and her parents would have to retrace her footsteps to help bring them back to their homes, she wanted to pet every animal.
She graduated from the Animal Health Technician Program at St. Clair College in May 1988 and began her career in the veterinary field. Kelly has been fortunate to work 26 of her 31 years in the field at Fort Malden Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician. She has come to know many clients and their pets over the years, and tries hard to help both owner and animals during good times and difficult times. Coming to work is something she looks forward to every day.

Delaine Leopold
Veterinary Technician and Client Care Specialist
Delaine grew up in the Amherstburg area on a small hobby farm. She knew at a young age she wanted to be in the veterinary field. She graduated in May 1988 from the Animal Health Technician Program at St. Clair College.
She has since been working in the veterinary field since graduation and has also spent 11 years as a part-time instructor at the St. Clair College Veterinary Technician Program.
When not at work she enjoys gardening and camping.
Veterinary Technicians

Kayla Temesy
Registered Veterinary Technician
Raised in Amherstburg, Kayla started her journey in the veterinary field here at Fort Malden Animal Hospital as a General Amherst Co-op student and was then hired on as a kennel attendant. She graduated from the University of Guelph - Ridgetown Campus Veterinary Technology program in 2011 and came back home to continue working at Fort Malden Animal Hospital as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Kayla is a proud member of the OAVT and is passionate about anesthesia, lab work, patient comfort, and pain management. She truly loves all pets, but seniors and rescues are her favourite! Her ever-growing family consists of her spouse, two daughters, dog, cat, bird, and horse. In her downtime she likes to relax with a beer and good book or movie.

Kandice Serecin
Registered Veterinary Technician
Kandice joined the Fort Malden Animal Hospital team in spring of 2019. She has been a Registered Veterinary Technician since 2016 upon graduation from the Veterinary Technician program at St. Clair College. Kandice has always had a love for animals feeling drawn to them at a very young age. She began working with animals first chance she got, having worked at a family owned boarding kennel as soon as she was old enough. She just knew she had to pursue a career working with animals. She can’t imagine herself doing any other job and enjoys all aspects of being a technician. She looks forward to growing and advancing her skills with such a great group of team members.
Outside of work Kandice enjoys spending time with her two dogs. She has a black lab mix named Nala that she adopted from the St. Clair College Veterinary Technician program and a Dutch Shepherd, Vienna. You can find them doing various activities together such as hiking, paddle boarding and scent detection work.

C.J. Mulder
Registered Veterinary Technician
C.J. was born and raised in Amherstburg. She has had a passion for animals ever since she was young. C.J. loved animals so much she had the nickname Elmyra. C.J. loves helping with all of the dogs, cats and pocket pets at Fort Malden Animal Hospital.
Her favorite hobby is horseback riding and she has been riding since she was 8 years old. C.J. graduated from the St. Clair College veterinary technician program in 2012. She married her wonderful husband Aaron in August of 2018. She currently has an adorable yorkie dog named Hawkeye.

Briana Banner
Registered Veterinary Technician, Lead Technician
Briana graduated from St Clair College’s Veterinary Technician program in 2015, becoming Registered a few months later. Her favourite animal may be sharks, but she has only worked in small practices since graduating.
Briana is always trying to learn new things and enjoys dentistry and radiology in the veterinary field.
In her free time, Briana enjoys concerts, travelling and watching movies. She has travelled to many places already with Australia being the most recent. She's always planning a next destination.

Brooklyn Mogg
Veterinary Technician Student
Brooklyn has lived in Amherstburg her whole life. Brooklyn has been drawn to animals since she was young and knew this was the field for her. Working with animals runs in her family, she has two veterinary technician relatives and another relative who works with horses.
After Brooklyn graduates she wants to specialize in dentistry and zoo medicine while also working in small animal medicine. Brooklyn loves to spend her downtime reading books, watching tv shows and loves spending time with her pets. She adopted Duke, a Redbone Coonhound from St. Clair College Veterinary Technician Program, she also has a golden retriever named Lucky, a Shih-poo named Lily and a cat named Chubby as well.
