IMPORTANT CLINIC UPDATES

How we are keeping our patients, clients and our staff safe.

 

In attempts to continue offering patient care while also attempting to social distance and decrease the risk of spread of Covid-19 the Fort Malden Animal Hospital is implementing the following protocols.

We are restricting hours from 8am to 4pm Mondays to Fridays and 8am to 12pm on Saturdays. 

We are committed to continuing to see patients for all accidents, ailments, emergencies and illnesses – HOWEVER, we will be cancelling elective appointments and procedures until further notice. If you are unsure how this applies to your pet, contact us, we are happy to clarify.

 

Starting Saturday, March 21st our front door will remain locked throughout the day. 

If you are coming to the clinic with your pet:

  • Call us from your vehicle when you arrive. 

  • The Veterinarian will discuss your concerns over the phone.

  • A team member will meet you at the door to admit your pet.  You can return to your vehicle while the veterinarian examines your pet.

  • Exam findings, diagnostic and treatment options will then be discussed over the phone. 

  • Ideally payment will be made by credit card over the phone. 

  • We will meet you at the door with your pet and any necessary medications to go home. 

If you are coming to the clinic to pick up food or medication:

  • Call us. We will confirm the prescription and process the payment over the phone.

  • When you arrive at the clinic please call from your vehicle

  •  A team member will place your food or medication in or next to a wooden crate beside the front door.

We will attempt to provide telemedicine exams whenever deemed possible. This will be done on a case by case basis. Surgical discharges will be discussed by phone and discharge sheets will be e-mailed.

 

We recommend you have a minimum 2 weeks supply of your pet's medication. We will remain available to refill medications.

We want to stress, COVID-19 is a HUMAN disease. There have been no cases of pets becoming infected with COVID-19. We are in regular communication with veterinary epidemiologists and will provide our clients with the best information whenever possible.
